Re: 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7, 134a
In view of the high mileage, and because we don't know the service history of this vehicle, I wouldn't bother with the OT and accumulator unless you're just curious. Rather, I would replace the liquid line and OT assembly, plus everything else A/C-related under the hood, and thoroughly flush the ...

Re: 2003 Ford Taurus - Compressor not engaging
A couple of additional observations and suggestions:
1. Never "jump" anything, especially by forcing the compressor to run.
The main problem with that is oil circulation. If the system is below the pressure threshold for the compressor to engage, by jumping it, you're also forcing the compressor ...

Re: Compressor not kicking on. 96 ram 2500
Two potential issues come to mind:
1. Double-check that your Manifold Gauge Set is hooked up properly and that the yellow hose is oriented correctly. Some hoses have check valves in them, and if reversed, they won't flow.
2. You didn't mention the accumulator, which might be saturated with moisture ...

Re: Sourcing R12 240sx compressor
Your condenser might be appropriately sized as well.
In my car, I believe that Toyota used a serpentine condenser and R/D left over from their R-12 vehicles, and they cooled just fine for more than 29 years using R-134a.

... . On final effort we will do exact tare weight freon charge again, according to hood label = 24 ounces, no additives.
Excellent. Don't forget to empty the pressurized hoses into the low side. The hoses can contain up to 1/2-ounce of additional, previously weighed refrigerant depending on ...

Re: Sourcing R12 240sx compressor
Without also swapping the serpentine style condenser for a parallel flow, i would be sacrificing quite a bit of capacity and efficiency from what I’ve read.
Not necessarily.
For what it's worth, until recently, I owned a 1994 Toyota Camry V6 Wagon, bought new, with a factory R-134a system (first ...

I'm helping a friend with his Jeep WJ, 1999 Grand Cherokee 4.7, having insufficient A/C cooling.
How many miles are on the odometer, and does it have the original compressor?
The JGC Limited has dual temperature controls and hence dual blend doors. We carved into the plenum behind the glove ...

Re: 1986 Chevy C10 Not Getting Cold
I think the system is still a bit low on refrigerant based on the pressures at 1,500 RPM.
You could try adding one ounce at a time while monitoring the pressures and center vent temperature (easier said than done, I know), not charging it beyond the 56 ounces net weight specification, and see what ...

Re: Compressor clutch locked on and gauges read the same
There are just under 140,000 miles on the engine.
Ahhh, just getting broken in :D
You are correct in that the compressor continuously rotates the mainshaft whenever the engine is running. The psi was with the engine running, but I did not record the ambient temperature but it was probably in ...
