Re: Need help diagnosing ac problem

Ok so the Freon can was freezing up and it took like 30 minutes to get the car to take Freon. You guys were right, it’s working great now! Thank you so much for the help! Maybe I didn’t vacuum it long enough? But after the vacuum both gauges were at 0. Glad it's working now. But will it remain work...

Re: Need help diagnosing ac problem

Hello all, I just joined the forum to learn a bit more. Ive worked on cars for years, but never really messed with ac components. I’m at a loss with my current ac problem and hoping for some advise. Welcome to the Forum. I have a 2012 Ford Focus. I just got the car, and the ac doesn’t work. The com...

Re: Daihatsu gino not blowing cold air

Could a compressor be faulty even though it’s turning, both high and low pressures are fine, suction line is icy cold and high pressure is not too hot? If the pressures are good, especially the high side, and the lines are at the expected temperatures, chances are it's not the compressor. I had a d...

Re: Low side hose pinches when pulling a vacuum

For what it's worth, I have never seen or heard of any A/C barrier hose collapsing inward like that under vacuum.

Re: Question about oil in new system

The oil qty is determined for a complete system, not a compressor only. Oil qty is also very conservative, the factory amount is usually more than necessary. Yes, I know. But we should keep in mind that this is a custom system composed of parts from a '65 Nova (OEM evaporator), an '06 Silverado (OE...

Our Military Veterans

Today, Veterans Day, let us pause to say "Thank You" to the 19-million men and women veterans, living and deceased, and the 1-1/2 million on active duty: We might not know them all, but we owe them all.

Re: Low side hose pinches when pulling a vacuum

Curiously, when I search the first GM part number you mentioned, 1522310, it comes up as a compressor. I'm not a "parts guy," but could it be this one instead: GM part #23141321 Suction Hose Assembly? Additional thoughts: The two assemblies you received that seem to have identical, unusual...

Re: Question about oil in new system

Just for reference, any OE style A6, single-unit system. Will take 11 ounces of oil. Thanks. I thought 7.1 ounces seemed "light" for an A-6. The 7.1 oz spec is for a 2006 Silverado which was the donor vehicle for the compressor. Ahhh...now that we have clarification about where the compre...

Re: Question about oil in new system

The only part of the system that is original is the evaporator. Everything else is modern and new Yes, I understood that from your original post. What I'm suggesting is that maybe the 7.1-ounce oil specification that you found elsewhere was the spec for an original A-6 used in a factory A/C system ...
