Re: AC not cooling after remained garaged for few months

I cut open the RD and it's holes are all blocked with some light brown colour dust like wet thing. Got few pictures but can't get them to shrink to post here. The more I think about this, the more I'm led to believe that degradation of the oil has occurred, which is usually caused by moisture getti...

Re: Intermittently working AC in a VW

My EOS airconditioner work fine when the vehicle is moving but it turns off when it is waiting at lights travelling slow or its very hot 30 degrees and up (Sydney Australia). So I was wondering what it could be? A cooling sensor? The radiator fans? Even though your questions are somewhat related to...

Re: cleaning condenser

I've had pretty good results using either Zep Citrus Cleaner or Zep Fast 505 applied with a spray bottle and rinsed off using low-pressure water from a garden hose. Both are available in gallons at your local HD. If you use a brush, make it one having soft bristles, and go gently so that you don't d...

Re: AC not cooling after remained garaged for few months

the system on all cars must have over 50 psi to turn compressor on . need freon and The expansion valve & the suction line was frosted this also is a sign of low freon. You would think this is a sign it is over full also frost blowing out the vents, system is about to quit., out of freon OP eva...

Re: Price of 134a going up now

I haven't purchased any R-134a lately, but I've heard about that as well. Next time I visit a parts supplier in my area, I'll check the prices. At the same time, I wonder if the prices of R-1234yf are dropping. I wouldn't bet on it.

Re: AC not cooling after remained garaged for few months

Ran for two days now even with outside temps reaching 32 C , it performed well. Glad to hear that. Other than the suspected plugging of the R/D, did you ever find any leaks in the system? Yes, I will keep the old TXV as what I put in is some Chinese TXV. Always a good idea. No I didn't measure the ...

Re: AC not cooling after remained garaged for few months

Removed both TXV and RD. The TXV looks clean and not blocked(?). The TXV is not genuine or OEM. Only available is other parts as dealers don't supply AC parts. What we presume to be the original TXV appears clean and unblocked, so I would hold onto it since it's the OEM (probably expensive) BMW par...

Re: AC not cooling after remained garaged for few months

Removed both TXV and RD. The TXV looks clean and not blocked(?). But when I removed the line to RD from condensor there was a big hiss, indicating blocked RD, I guess. Sounds like you found the blockage problem, and hopefully, the leak(s). It would be interesting to cut open the old R/D, examine th...

Re: AC not cooling after remained garaged for few months

Upto the time the compressor stopped, the expansion valve & the suction line was frosted. That's why I think the shop tech thinks the expansion valve is blocked. Is there a way to check the expansion valve? Removed the expansion valve. Here are few pictures and I cant say whether its blocked or...

Re: AC Compressor size

I have a 2nz-fe engine which is a 1300 cc and I'm in the process of changing the AC compressor. Sounds like a Toyota engine installed in a Yaris or possibly a Corolla, many of which use Denso compressors. I've identified a compress which would be a direct bolt on on my engine but it's from a 1800 c...
