VW A/c help

Can anyone help with an A/C problem?
The system has just been charged with new refrigerant and there are no leaks.
When I press the AC button, the clutch engages and the compressor spins, however the blowers in the car don't get any cooler.
The auxiliary cooling fan is dodgy which I'm in the process of replacing, but the larger fan works fine.
Very much a rookie in all this, any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thankyou

2002 New Beetle 2.0l petrol
Our local garage filled it with refrigerant and confirmed there weren't any leaks in the system, however they couldn't get the AC to run cold even with the refrigerant in the system.

We had the refrigerant filled to see if that was why the AC wasn't blowing cold but it seems there's another issue somewhere.

If my vehicle, I'd measure and post both low side and high side pressures at about 1800 rpm.

And after a couple of minutes I'd feel if the line from the condenser was hot, and if the line coming from the evaporator was cold.

Is the clutch actually engaging?

If so the next stop is the control valve

Thanks for the suggestions.
Yes the clutch definitely engages on the compressor.
I will measure the pressures next week and asses further.
Many thanks

I’d say control valve on the compressor. Pressure readings will help confirm this.

Thankyou
Is this control valve the same thing as the pressure relief valve on the compressor?

Thanks

It's not the same as the PRV. I think your compressor is a Sanden SD7V16, but seems like you are in the UK since you said "petrol", so it might be different. SD7V16 was very popular back then and they are good compressors, durability of the Sanden wobble plate design and is also a variable.

The bad news is the control valve is buried inside the compressor. I think it's attached to the valve plate, I can't remember if the body castings are o-ring sealed or metal gaskets. Either way it's a low probability you would be successful in replacing that valve and getting it back together without leaking.
