Re: Poor cooling Excessive high side pressures 09 ES350 Lexus

Just an additional note to what JohnHere said....make sure to inspect between the condenser and radiator. Most debris such as cottonwood and other dirt will get through the condenser fins and matt up on the face of the radiator. Condenser will look clean but the radiator could be blocked.

Re: 2003 Ford Taurus - Compressor not engaging

One other note. If there are any drivability codes present the PCM may not be allowing the compressor to come on.

Re: 2003 Ford Taurus - Compressor not engaging

If you were reading 85lbs at rest that is plenty of pressure to activate the clutch cycling switch. Did you remember to install the old switch from the original accumulator or install a new one? Did you remember to plug it in? There is also another switch I believe on the compressor manifold. Make ...

Re: Air being pulled in to an A/C system??

Tim. I agree but the system does have a pressure transducer that will shut down the compressor somewhere around 400 pounds but there is no low pressure protection on the low side. We're going to put a compressor in it next week and see if the issue happens again. Seems to take about three weeks to a ...

Re: Air being pulled in to an A/C system??

I had those same thoughts first time through so we installed anti tamper caps. Plus in working with this gentleman I trust him. You an usually tell what people are like. Thanks for the comment.

Re: Air being pulled in to an A/C system??

After looking at the vehicle I have a theory. Comment if you think I'm nuts. lol. We found a very slight leak at the compressor manifold. This compressor has a manifold that is similar to the denso compressors. 4 bolts with a large oring seal. Also it's not holding a strong vacuum. Is it possible ...

Re: Ford Compressor/Head Gasket Repair

Make sure that you replace both gaskets. There is a valve place sandwiched between the compressor head and the compressor body. The gasket set should come with both.

Air being pulled in to an A/C system??

I've been in the A/C business for 40 years and have never seen this. 2013 Ford Fiesta came in with a leaking condenser. Replaced the condenser and recharged the system. Working great and pressures where they should be. Vehicle came in a few weeks later with a complaint of not cooling. Hooked up ...

Re: Peterbilt AC potential evap problem

I'm not super familiar with the truck but I if it's an expansion valve system I assume there would be a thermostat to read evaporator temperature. When replacing the evap did the temp probe get installed properly. If not the evaporator could be freezing up. Reading high side pressure is important ...

Re: Should I Top Off My 16 Year Old System?

If the system is cooling well most people wouldn't give it a thought. It never hurts to check pressures because even though it may be cooling it may be running irregular pressures. If it's running high-high side pressure it could suggest that the area between the condenser and radiator needs to be ...
