I'm not super familiar with the truck but I if it's an expansion valve system I assume there would be a thermostat to read evaporator temperature. It's hard to diagnose a A/C system without knowing the Low and High side pressures. See if you can get those. Also you stated that the condenser feels colder to the touch.
