Re: Air system design for vintage car

For the vintage cars we setup, we have dash vents only. Nothing in the footwells. Nothing under the seat. Nothing in the back seat. No exchange with outside air. Don't wanna condition the entire state, just the inside of the car With my experience with moderns, the recirculate setting does not fully...

Re: Newbie Looking for advice

OK, so you want to learn. Suggest you go back a ways on this forum and read every thread and post and you will learn a lot. Some pointers: 1. the sight glass is to be ignored for R134, it is relevant only to R12 2. You are correct, 15 min is too short a time to pull a vac. Should be more like 30 min...

Re: 2002 Pontiac Ram Air Trans Am ac is not cooling properly

If you have 45, in many cases that is as good as it gets, and you should be pleased. Few get to 40. Your daughter's car is a heartbeat away from freezing the evap core to a block of ice, especially with high humidity,, you do not want to be in the 30's. As far as the thinness of the new condenser, w...

Re: gauges leak out freon after use

In which case he should check the documentation that came with the pump. If that is the case, surely there is an adapter for that, they have adapters for everything. Or change out the tee in the pump itself. Maybe that is why he said at first that the hose would not go on either the jug or the pump,...

Re: gauges leak out freon after use

I am so confused, he has his hose obviously connected to the R134 fitting at the top of the TEE.
The R12 fitting on the side is vacant. It should be capped when he is vacuuming. He will never use it.

ie I do not see a problem

Re: pulling vacuum

Ignore this idea, it requires special equipment, and is not needed on a system with such a small capacity We already had a discussion on this less than a week ago on this board. Read all of the threads here..... "makes for a better evacuation" not better, but can be faster, but I stand by ...
