Re: Noticed AC compressor cycling 2011 GMC Yukon XL Denali

Cusser, would pressures help us? Dave Maybe, but I haven't seen the need so far to measure the low and high side pressures, maybe I'm wrong. I am of the understanding - likely incorrect - that these systems are designed so compressor is always on (not like my 1998 and 2004 Frontiers which use an ev...

Noticed AC compressor cycling 2011 GMC Yukon XL Denali

2011 GMC Yukon XL Denali, just purchased by us in May, 75K miles. R134a, dual AC. I rarely drive this vehicle, but did drive it on a trip from AZ to CA in the summer. Anyway, Mrs. Cusser drives it all the time, and I noticed when she returns from somewhere that the AC compressor cycles every few sec...

Re: 2007 Yukon Denali – no air flow – freezing but not low on charge?

There is dye in the system so somebody was trying to find the leak at some point. Our 2005 Yukon had UV dye in in from the factory, or maybe it was our 1994 Suburban - or both; there was a sticker under the hood stating this. Both have been sold now, I don't know about our 2011..... I saw a PDF sta...

Re: 2007 Yukon Denali – no air flow – freezing but not low on charge?

I can only conclude the evaporator is freezing. Maybe. And maybe it is low on R134a; this requires evacuation equipment to pull out and weigh the R134a. Check to make sure that the air flow is NOT being directed to the windshield or under the dash. There are up to 3 electric actuators which have th...

Re: hose seals

what gauges do you guys use? I use R-12 service gauge set from well over 3 decades ago. I have both Ford/Mazda-type and GM/Toyota type high side adapters. I have one vehicle (1988 Mazda truck) still on R-12 (thanks to Tim at ackits.com for supplying a new compressor in 2014). I use R134a service ga...

Re: Looking for advice re: 1990 Grand Wagoneer A/C

There ya go, the forum owner ran an AC shop in the past Yep, and I had AC service done there twice (I was local). And have purchased at least four compressors, one evaporator, one vacuum pump, expansion valves, and plenty of miscellaneous stuff like driers from ACkits.com Why four compressors? Two ...
