Re: AC working, but vent air still not cold

Fluid pressure is about 30 psi on low side when compressor is engaged. Any input or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Need high side pressure when running at about 1800 rpm. If you don't have such service gauges, then silly to try to diagnose yourself. When I put the temperature selection to a hi...

Re: Why hasn't R1234YF dropped in price much in the last few years?

Honeywell has a monopoly Automotive refrigerants that leak out of A/C systems contribute very little to the overall global warming problem, only about 0.14% according to scientific estimates. Even so, when you multiply the millions of vehicles that are AC-equipped times even a small amount of refrig...

Re: A/C blowing hot air

1. There are aerosol cans of AC flush available at parts stores, then use your compressor to blow off any remaining solvents. I think one of the sponsors of this site sells kits fro professional mechanics. 2. I don't know specifically about your vehicle, but bad actuators could cause air to get defl...

Re: 06 Jag schrader valve replacement

To me, it's just so weird that low-volume vehicle manufacturer Jaguar would use such a specialty schraeder valve in the first place !!!

Re: 2015 BMW X5 7SBU17C compressor clutch gap

Go to a higher-end bike shop. Ask to see some brake shims. ACE Hardware also. .... there are several ACE Hardwares. What exactly would I be looking for there? Brake shims as well? Just look through all the little drawers, stuff sometimes has "interesting" names. Did you actually test your...

Re: A/C controls

I would think that there are modern controls that could work. Some modern systems work by pressures, some might work using electronics. I believe most systems once "on" have the driver "add heat" to make the temperature comfortable. Systems like in my '88 Mazda truck and '98 and ...

Re: Pulley Replacement 2012 Ram 1500 - Can't find any reasonable $$ parts

I was able to pull off the AC clutch off my Sanden compressor (1988 Mazda truck) without disconnecting/removing the compressor itself. Even practicing on a used compressor and borrowing AC puller tools from Autozone, I had to "engineer" some of my own pullers. Apparently I cannot attach a ...
