2007 chrysler aspen 5.7 front and rear air-conditioning. Replaced Schrader valve low side. Pulled vacuum for 30 min. Passed leakdown test. Jumpered ac compressor clutch. Ready to put in 40 oz of r134a. It takes about 8 oz and my low side is already at 50 psi , 150 at high side. No air cooling at all. Ambiant temp was 73. I shut it down and have been searching internet for answers. Havent found much on such a fast build up of low side pressure.What is the experts view on this?

A reading of about 50 PSI on the low side is normal while charging. Not surprised you have no cooling with only 8 ounces net weight in the system.

A system that holds vacuum is no guarantee that it won't leak under pressure.

Why did you jumper the clutch? Refrigerant carries the oil, which lubricates the compressor. With very little refrigerant in the system, you stand a good chance of ruining the compressor, if you haven't already done so.

Never jumper anything.
