40' Fleetwood motor home.

Post by bobdj73 »

First time on the forum here. Am trying to reccharge the dash ac on our 40' 2007 fleetwood diesel puusher motor home.
Had the system evacuated, drew a vacume on the system which helad over night.
I am using gauges and the system holds 3.2 pounds of r134a .I've been able to get a few ounces in the system, but havn't been able to get the compressor to kick on.
Maybe i have bigger problems ? Also the small 12oz cans keep freezing up.
Have done a few cars and trucks before, nothing quite this big.
Thanks for any help.

Chances are, the compressor won't engage with just a few ounces in the system given that the system holds 3.2 pounds of refrigerant.

I wonder whether your low-side service port adapter is actually depressing the Schrader valve enough to get any refrigerant into the system or whether you're charging only the Manifold Gauge Set and hoses.

How many Inches of Mercury (InHg) or Microns were you able to achieve when you evacuated the system?
