97 Chevy c1500 a/c help needed…

Post by Spank McJenkins »

I have a 97 C1500 that I changed the compressor on. Previously the ac only operated intermittently at best, but was cold when it worked. (I’m new at this also, btw). Put vacuum on the system, but having probs charging system. Low side took from (~50) but high side is 0. Clutch Will not engage. Installed a couple of new switch/sensors, but clutch still inop . Frustrated and unsure what I’m missing. Open to all ideas….

If you haven't already done so, pull out the Orifice Tube (OT) and examine it. It might be partially blocked with gunk and metal particles. If it is, I'm afraid the system will need a lot more work.
