Re: Compressor oil
What Scion? The only ones from that year are Xa's and Xb's and their Denso 5SE09 compressors are rated for ND oil 8 (any DEC PAG 46 is the commercial equivalent).
Perhaps some compressor manufacturers/remanufacturers just won't bother about researching/listing the proper oil type and viscosity, and they just settle on a universal kind of recommendation, which once used to be PAG 100.
(In a similar fashion to some shops that just won't bother themselves with storing different AC oil type and viscosities, and only use PAG 100 or Ester 100 on every AC job, ranging from a simple recovery+vacuum+charge to a brand new compressor).
PAG 100 is really meant for some vane comps and some Sandens. Entirely out of place on swashplate applications.
