Pressure switches

Post by ajb »

Hello i am new to this site and retrofitting an ac system to an old vehicle.

it is using a gm style orifice tube with the big aluminium accumulator. i am wondering if it is possible to mount a trinary switch on the accumulator in place of the low pressure switch or if i require to insert a fitting that has the provision for a high pressure switch in the high side line.

i hope that someone out there can assist this amateur haha . thank you very much cheers.

Since Trinary safety switches monitor the high pressure branch, using it in the low pressure branch would be useless. The cut on/off presets for the safety switch would not apply to the low side pressure to protect the system from a potential problem. I would find a beadlock fitting that has the safety switch port for the high side.
