V7 Control Valve

Post by aspahn »

Control Valves Are marked with Pressure rating. Is Pressure rating the suction pressure ? Forums indicate the suction pressure can be changed by compressing or lengthening the body the CV body. Does raising the suction pressure cause the compressor to UP(increase the) stroke the compressor?

The control valve doesn't do anything as long as the low side is above the valve's set pressure-- the compressor operates at full capacity. Once the set pressure is reached, the valve makes the compressor de-stroke to prevent the low side from going lower. This keeps the evaporator from becoming too cold and icing up.
