2001 Silverado HVAC Control Module

I have read where these are an issue, Here is what i have, 2001 Chevy Silverado 2wd 5.3 Manual HVAC Control Module.
When the A/C button is in the off position, (no indicator light illuminated) and the dash vent control knob is in any position, the compressor will not run in the fresh air mode but when put into the recirculate mode the compressor runs and the A/C light remains off, I am aware the the compressor will run when in the defroster mode whether the A/C is on or off but this occurs when the dash vent control knob IS NOT in the defrost position.
I have reset the A/C module by pulling the 10 amp hvac fuse for 10 minutes with no change
Is this working properly?
