Re: 1976 Cadillac A/C

Where are you? I know several times in the past people have connected with others on here for help. Lots of us still have R12. I did some work on two vehicles last week that still use R12.

Re: 1976 Cadillac A/C

Keep it R12. It is still out there and can legally be put in a vehicle that originally came with it.

Re: What is the purpose of the black metal tabs on the right side of the attached image?

Chrysler. Not sure of the purpose, and I can't ever get a new one one either. So I quit trying, just replace the O-ring with some nyloc. I have not had one leak or a comeback. If there is a trick to installing them, I too would like to know it. I'm no engineer, but am sure the are supposed to serve ...

Re: 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis AC hose blows off

I fought with a quick disconnect fitting on a new UAC hose for a long time a couple of weeks ago. After fighting with it for too long, I pulled the accumulator off so I could see what was going on better. The end of the hose was too big!!!! The "bell" end of the hose would not go into the ...

Does the low side line right at the firewall feel colder than what the vents do? The pressures are not far off.

Re: 2006 Dodge Durango Issues

Ok I just put my guages on it and the ambient air temp is 85 degrees. My low side reading is 35 and high side is 200. If Im reading the chart right the low should be between 45-55 and the high should be 225 to 250. So doesnt that mean my system is low. I let it run for about 20 minutes with no chan...

450 is way to high! Does this have a mechanical fan with a fan clutch? That is where I would be looking right now.

Re: AC in 98 Cavilier wont blow out cold air

How was the pressure checked? If the system was not running, about all pressure will tell is that there is "some" refrigerant in the system. I look at one today that the pressure "looked good" until the compressor was turned on with the switch. Then low side dropped into vacuum. ...

Re: 2004 Silverado AC works for 10 minutes, but once cycles off will not cycle back on! Help please!

My first thought is to check the clutch gap. It may be too wide. The first time it comes on, everything is fine. After that, the coil is hot causing more resistance and a weaker magnetic pull on the clutch. After it is off for a bit, it cools off enough to work again. The relay also causes some resi...
