Re: 10S20F Performance Chart
70 f and no better? With a wet condenser? Have you checked for reheating? Your pressures indicate it is moving some heat - 275psi @ 110f ambient is what I piece together from your post. Start with a full load test. Cabin fan on highest speed. Front doors open. Engine RPM above 1800 rpm for at least ...

Your pics are NOT the same block.
If you look in the bores on the picture I posted you can see the through holes from the fittings, they are no taller than the block itself

Re: 270 microns good enough?
My goal was always 400 microns. The last green LED on the old Supco gauge. I have moved on to different equipment, but the number stuck with me.
I will second John's information about desiccant. It will over time get saturated. Our vacuum pumps can't remove moisture already in the desiccant.

Not trying to be cryptic, but that big online parts seller is in direct competition with the site sponsor on many items - so we don't post direct links to them here.
Small stull like that switch and plug are available from several sources.

Just run what you have. Re-clocking that compressor leaves a whole new can of worms with the 3rd mounting bolt.
Looks like there is plenty of stuff on that engine right now that is taller than a hose.

Re: What's this stuff I'm flushing out of an evaporator?
Air and moisture in an overworked and neglected system. Mineral oil in an A/C system was pretty stable. Unless you add oxygen or water. Usually air raises the head pressure and the discharge temperature, which helps oxidize or "coke" the oil. Moisture creeps in to systems via hose transpir...

Re: 67 GTO and 69 Caprice AC
If they still have the A6 compressor, recalibrating the POA valve for 134a should help a lot. Older conversions sometimes have too much (or mixed) oil in the system because of the guidelines used 30 years ago. The other thing that can make a big difference on older cars is the fan clutch and shroud....
