Re: Compressor will not cycle with LPCO jumpered
There's also the high pressure cutout switch on the back of the compressor. Might be easier to back-probe at PCM can verify a/c request and compressor relay control at the same time. Is this an early 90's full size FWD Buick? Been a while but recall there were problems with moisture/corrosion in the...

Re: Chrysler minivan a/c mechanically good, but no cold air
If it's ATC the manuals show the evap temp sensor is on the TVX block underhood. Still a bit buried but better than dash R&R.

Re: Chrysler minivan a/c mechanically good, but no cold air
Is the van auto or manual temp control? ATC the evap sensor is on the TVX block underhood, manual temp control is in the evap case behind dashboard.

Re: '93 Silverado c1500 AC replacement
Have installed a few of the off-brand replacements that are PF in spec and appearance. Haven't had a bad one yet to cut open and verify true PF. Quality is questionable - sent back two that came with metal chips in the discharge line. There is a AC-Delco parallel flow condenser for these trucks it's...

V5 shaft seal leak
Replaced shaft seal late last summer and it seemed ok. Held over winter but started using it this summer and found clutch wet with oil again. This AM found clutch wet with oil _again_ so tore it down to get a better look at shaft seal area since it only seems to leak while running. Assuming it is le...

Re: Adding electric fans to antique car
You don't say what you have for a radiator now but if it's a copper/brass change it out for an aluminium. Doesn't have to be fancy $$$ retrofit unit my experience running big block Olds motors in A-bodies was a single row AL from a late 80's GM FWD cooled better than any 60's/70's 3-row copper/brass...

Re: Determining correct charge weight for non-stock A/C
95deg / 60% RH @ 2500rpm non-recirc/doors open high side spikes to ~280psi but when fans get to full speed drops to 230psi and holds it there. We only see temps like this a few days a year (Metro NY area) so it's a worst case. In heavy stop n go traffic, high side ~180 with center vent 43-44deg on r...

Determining correct charge weight for non-stock A/C
Trying to find out how to determine correct charge level for a non-stock system. Have a V5 compressor on a chevy 4.8 LS motor in a '94 C1500 pickup. Original evaporator, new accumulator, aftermarket parallel flow condenser, stock black/white orfice tube, dual electric fans, custom hoses within a few...

The output is controlled by the internal valve.
Here's one that looks like it's on the original R4 bracket of a a typical SBC serp belt drive might ask the poster.

Re: R4 compressor upgrade...V5? V7?
The suction/discharge on the V5 is reversed compared to the R4, will require lines to be made up.
I'm running a V5 on the same truck - it's worth the effort.
