Re: Finding A Leak In A New System

First make sure that the vacuum pump to gauge set connections, gauge set itself, and the hoses are not the problem.

Re: Ac not as cold when car warms up

Is there any reference or chart i could look at when charging the ac with pressures? A baseline pressure to look for when charging? Thanks. I'm not personally aware of such chart; others may have information. Understand that I am NOT an AC professional. Personally, I charge by weight from refrigera...

Re: Ac not as cold when car warms up

Ive run out of funds to buy a vacuum pump, but thankfully i stumbled upon this: https://www.instructables.com/id/Making-A-Fridge-Compressor-Into-A-Vacuum-Pump/ Autozone in warmer areas of USA has loaner vacuum pumps, I once borrowed one when 100 miles from my own. But I don't know your country or l...

Re: Ac not as cold when car warms up

Your compressor seems to be running fine. I did a search and found out that the sight glass in the reciever drier should be clear, mine is not. It looks like a stream of flowing bubbles. But i also read that you shouldnt look at the sight glass on modern cars, my cars pretty old so... Sight glass st...

Re: Ac not as cold when car warms up

The problem also progressively gets worse the longer you run the car. I got stuck in stand still traffic for nearly 30 mins and the cooling was basically non existent. Edit: And it got cold again when the traffic started moving. This seems to indicate a bad fan clutch to me. If your vehicle (you di...

Re: Ac not as cold when car warms up

Hey guys, i have a new problem with my car ac that just showed up recently. The ac performance decreases as the car warms up. These are the readings with the gauges i bought: All of the readings at idle speed, max fan speed and in my garage. I'd like to see both low and high pressures at about 1800...

Not having a thermometer to check the vent temperatures??? So weird !

Anyway, maybe his got lost or broke a few days ago....the real test is driving it in the heat and seeing if you're comfortable.

Any thoughts?
Appears??? Turn on the engine and AC, visually determine if the CENTER part of the AC compressor is turning, not just the outer pulley.

Re: AC Compressor not kicking on when trying to recharge system

With today's Phx temperatures, I would hope for lower, but maybe that's what a Nissan Maxima can deliver. Of course it's only about 85F here today outside, so will get 30F higher in summer. My 1998 and 2004 Nissan Frontiers have great AC, and those have their condenser/radiator cooled by a fan clutc...

Re: AC Compressor not kicking on when trying to recharge system

I'm also in Phx, and within the last couple of months I've seen pure R134a cans (NO SEALER !!!) with the traditional tops still on the shelves at both Home Depot and WalMart, $4.88 per can.

I also have a side tapper gizmo.
