Re: Ac help (I’ll die)
Now we just moved to Phoenix from Wyoming and now it’s my car and it hit 85° today and there is no way in heck I’ll survive when it’s 100+ if this is how it’s going to work. Try 115F in the shade here !!! My daughter has a 2013 Subaru which AC works fine, but that's 8 year difference in possible en...

Another GM "secret". Like the fuse for the ECM/OBD2 on my '94 Suburban was also the one with the label "Cigar" for the lighter.Dgreen wrote:Found the problem. Found another fuse that had been removed. IGN E is how it was labeled. Installed a 10 amp fuse and everything worked.

Re: High side adapter fitting bad?
Are you talking about an R-12 high side fitting adapter? I have one for GM-type, and one Ford-type which I still use on my '88 B2200. What vehicle/year? A couple of years ago I bought a pack of refrigerant charging hose seals like this. Good thing, I had one fall out of a hose fitting, and some wear...

Re: R12 system on 79 Trans Am
I'm using 20+ year old 12 oz cans of R12. I suppose it is possible that they really are no longer 12 oz due to small leakage at the top of the can. Do these pressures indicate that the charge is a little low? My own 20 year old cans of R-12 are still fine. Before I vent the system and waste a bunch...

Re: Ford fiesta india 2014 a.c confusion
I would get a set of gauges, a can of refrigerant with oil, maybe with a little dye and top it off. If it is a slow leak and if your compressor can still develop good pressure, I'd run it for at least the upcoming summer season and see what happens. The leak check dye in the can can tell you where ...

Yet another "not better" better idea.Dougflas wrote:If you think R12 is expensive, wait until you price R1234YF. R1234YF is being used on a lot of new vehicles.

Re: 1966 Oldsmobile A/C
Keep it R12 That would be ideal, but I am concerned about long term availability of R12. Thanks. If you're in USA, there's a glut of R-12, as there are few actual uses for it. It's legal to use. Most of the R-12 vehicles are either off the road or those are amenable to conversions have been switche...

And there is AC flush that comes in an aerosol can, I've used that myself.
