Re: What happens when capacity of system is exceeded?

Hello, Very interesting data chart and I applaud you - really, I do. My data about vent temperatures comes from my sweaty forehead and a meat thermometer stuck into the center dashboard vent. Sorry, no logged pressures. A few weeks ago here in sweaty Louisiana and after reading a few things around h...

Re: Kubota farm tractor both low side and high side High

I'm still kinda curious what would happen with a little water sprayed or misted onto the condenser fins. This would at least let us know where some of the problem occurs - unable to shed heat from the condenser. And its a vanishingly inexpensive, easy test point.

Re: Kubota farm tractor both low side and high side High

Hello, I'd like to know what your high side pressures settle down to with a little water sprayed / misted onto the condenser fins. I'm thinking the fan is not moving enough air for you through the condenser fins and tractor radiators are notorious eaters and lodgers of grass seed husks. My predictio...

Re: Strange problem

The check engine light should have an associated trouble code with it. What is that DTC code?

Re: 2008 Volvo C30 Air Conditioning

Hello, Not to hijack the discussion here but how is it that General Motors & other air conditioning systems can be dependably and safely made to work in cold winter time temperatures when set to defrost? This setting cycles the compressor to chill and dry the air prior to blowing across the insi...

Re: Compressor not holding vacuum

Add a little UV dye to your refrigerant and then buy the UV light and goggles kit. That will reveal all leaks though its probably best to check things at night or a darkened garage.

Re: Nissan pathfinder AC rattle

Bad belt idler pulley? They wear out and you should be able to isolate the noise down by changing the RPM and some careful listening.

Re: Evacuation procedure.

Hello, This is absolutely true and something I've recently seen on my 70 El Camino. It developed a leak so we pulled it down and it held vacuum very nicely. Then we added some refrigerant and it leaked liquid like a volcano at a bad fitting crimp. Yes, hard to believe with such a big leak under pres...

Re: Delenair system on vintage Jaguar

Those older hoses are not the "barrier" hoses that the R134A will need. Molecules of R134A are smaller than those of R12 and the 134A will leak out. The R12 compressor oil is also not compatible with the 134A. You will need a Schrader valve "port" kit for the 134A and for best op...

Re: A/C controls

I have a system from Classic in my 70 El Camino with the controls in the dashboard. Hide the Classic temperature and operation controls somewhere else. They are not large, don't need vacuum and are stash-able someplace. Think glove box or maybe under the drivers seat. For money, I bet that Classic w...
