Re: 93 toyota pickup, low side good, high side climbing
I don't think you answered a key question bohica2xo asked earlier: Your truck came from the factory with R-12. Is it still R-12, or was it converted to R-134a at some point? If it's still an original-spec system, my references for this vehicle call for 29 ounces of R-12 and 7 ounces of mineral oil. ...

Re: Baffled by ac in 2005 Dodge Durango. Plz help!
Some additional food for thought. As with dsar592, your high pressures seem pretty good. A low side of 36 PSI with a corresponding evaporator temperature of about 42 degrees, even though they are a bit elevated, should still give you some cooling but not at the comfort level we would like. With high...

Re: AC Low Pressure Gauge Stuck
Sometimes, we tend to overlook the obvious. Try this: Push on the hose toward the AC Pro's connector, and at the same time, pull back on the connector's collar (or ring). The connector should then release from the vehicle's port unless something else is wrong with it.

Re: Am I low on freon??
Ken, I had a few more thoughts on your '06 Durango. At 87 degrees ambient, your high pressures are pretty good, but I think your low side is a bit elevated. Consider this: A low side of around 40 PSI will yield an evaporator temp of about 45 degrees and center vent air of 50 degrees or so depending ...

Re: Leaks after replacing compressor and flushing system
Sounds like you have a large leak somewhere. Two things you can do: Inject a little UV dye ( half an ounce or less) and charge it, which should allow the compressor to run. That will distribute the dye, allowing you to detect the dye wherever it comes out. Alternatively, carefully go over every acce...

You might also consider having your original hoses/lines restored to maintain the OEM look. There is at least one supplier out there doing such work.

Re: 1996 geo metro ac oil?
I also see from my source documentation that the 1.32-pounds R-134a spec (21.12 ounces) that you mentioned is only for the 1997 Geo Metro. The oil spec is the same, though: 3.50 ounces of PAG-46.

Re: 1996 geo metro ac oil?
Here's what my reference documentation says for the 1995-1996 Geo Metro, all engines:
18.00 ounces R-134a
3.50 ounces PAG-46
18.00 ounces R-134a
3.50 ounces PAG-46

Re: Toyota pickup AC questions
R-12 to R-134a conversions like this don't usually cool quite as well as the original R-12 refrigerant did. But to make it work satisfactorily, this conversion requires some specific procedures that must be completed before evacuating and recharging a system with the new refrigerant. Your intentions...

Re: Ford Bronco 2 AC questions
One of the questions that came to mind earlier was the orientation of the OT. The long part with the screen should face toward the condenser.
