Running A6 without oil

Let's say someone had a total brain fart and ran a A6 compressor with NO oil in the system. Compressor completely dry. Probably ran it for 20 minutes while working on it. It was noisy from the time I started running it. Think it is fried?

Quick google search and it comes up as a replacement for some 1999 GM trucks. But based on the linked thread, this may have been something that someone swapped in.

Some 409 cleaner on the condenser and flush from the back side with your hose will remove a lot of the dirt.

The output is controlled by the internal valve. As I sit here waiting for my parts to be delivered, it hits me that there is no HPCO in this system. How important is it to have a HPCO? I understand it is a safety item to protect the system from overpressure. Is there a simple way to splice something into the high pressure line? Or should I just b...

I bought a gauge kit, went to hook it up and noticed that the high side schrader valve is too small for the gauge to screw onto. So I just hooked up the low side. I had to clear the code from the computer and then the compressor would kick on for a few seconds and then back off and on again. Lookin...
