Re: Looking for some help with a new product

High side would have to be behind condenser-- would not work IMO because of the restriction in the port causing an orifice effect. There are vehicles that use solenoids-- for rear systems- but only in foreign countries that I know of...Delica van comes to mind-- I would not concern myself with them....

Re: Looking for some help with a new product

treat it like a rear system- like in a van, or suburban- they have a liquid line split prior to expansion device for the front- then run a line to another rear evaporator, then return back to the intake of the compressor. 2nd evaporator uses an expansion valve (TXV)

Re: Refrigerant R134a

Pungent smell is usually flushing agent that never got removed fro the system-- which is a degreaser and totally detrimental to the system-- this is why I never put anything in the system other than oil or refrigerant-- If I flush, I use refrigerant flushing adapters on my recovery machine.

Re: Shaft seal "O" Rings

Always lube o-ring and seal interior with mineral oil- I use "mechanics" torque on thru-bolts- too loose is bad- too tight, and you can break the bolt- or sometimes strip the threads- but as I remember- 20 Nm comes to mind....just have to have a feel for it-- after about the first 500 I di...

Re: 1998 4.3 vortec

It uses Passlock II system- chip is in the tumbler- not the key-- so I usually just bypass them when they act up by buying a GMATTI bypass module off Ebay for $14- instructions are for using when remote starting, but I wire them to be used constantly (permanently ground it- instead of only on remote...

My 94 Astro has 374,000 on it- I've seen quite a lot of astro issues-- next time it won't start -- have someone crank it while you lay under gas tank and whaaaaap the tank with your fist several times-- this will kick into action a stalled fuel pump- and also let you know that it IS the issue-- I've...

Re: Brand new setup, compressor not sucking down

Mist the condenser with a garden hose- if pressures come down , you have an air flow across the condenser issue- as in blockage or bad fan or fan clutch.

Re: 1988 winnebago superchief AC question

If compressor is tight to turn by hand and belt is tight-- look out - it is seizing- as in locking up prpobably due to lack of lube from running on too low a refrigerant charge. Refrigerant oil does not travel well with loss of refrigerant- and can cause internal compressor damage. If compressor tur...
