Re: Trying to Pull Vacuum, only 22 Inces of Mercury
I second the suggestion of changing the oil in the vacuum pump. It's a "loaner," so there's no telling how contaminated the old oil is. Use only vacuum pump oil that's specially formulated for vacuum pumps.

Re: Compressor Oil type
OP, I don't recall your mentioning the year, make, and model of the vehicle for which this compressor is intended. That information might help in answering your original question about the oil type.

Re: Compressor Oil type
Denso compressors using R-134a refrigerant normally take PAG-46 (ND-8) oil. If you can find double-end-capped PAG-46, so much the better.

Re: Hose compensate to add the amount of freon in the hoses?
I think Ray's calculations are off considerably. That said, I've never tried to calculate exactly how much refrigerant remains in the hoses after charging a system. But presuming the compressor is running with the engine at about 1,800 RPM, the way I clear the hoses of refrigerant after charging, us...

Re: Jeep Liberty AC Cool Not Cold
No need to buy anything. Just pinch the heater hoses shut and re-test your center vent temperatures.

The specs that I have for your vehicle agree with those that Tim posted.
Incidentally, in your original post, I'm sure you meant to say "I recovered refrigerant" or something similar. Therefore, I edited your post accordingly.

Re: Jeep Liberty AC Cool Not Cold
Your initial set of pressures look pretty good to me. Have you explored the possibility of a re-heating situation—that is, heated air improperly mixing into the refrigerated air?

Re: What To Look For in an AC Machine?
Tesla EVs have conventional A/C systems in that all MVAC systems operate on the same basic principles. However, the systems that Tesla uses are more complex and more expensive than those used on ICE vehicles. For example, the compressors for the Tesla models—and indeed, all EVs—have integral electri...

Re: What To Look For in an AC Machine?
If I were you, I think I'd hold off on buying an RRR machine for R-134a and get myself a pro-quality Manifold Gauge Set for R-1234yf. The latter refrigerant has been phasing-in on vehicles since about 2015, maybe even earlier, and it has been REQUIRED in all vehicles in the USA since 2021. You might...

Re: potential leak prior to evacuation/recharge - how to find
Did you use Nylog Blue on every connection point that you disturbed? If not, it's well worth it—at least in my mind—to re-seal each of those connections using new gaskets and o-rings, if appropriate, and the aforementioned Nylog Blue, which will help seal the tiniest of leaks. A little goes a long w...
