Best Economical Vacuum Pump

There is a JB Eliminator 6 cfm pump for sale at half the retail cost of a new one in nice condition. Is this a pump that you guys would recommend for a do it youselfer? My old JB is only a single stage 1.5 cfm. Should I upgrade at $150? How important is more cfms? Just faster or is it better? My old...

Re: Vacuum Pump Oil

Money is not the big issue. Don't like to waste it though. It's more curiosity. Or is it just an oil ripoff. I have a vane type vacuum pump and have it apart. It's nothing but a rotor spinning around a housing insert. Can't understand why any special oil would be required. Vapors are released thru a...

Vacuum Pump Oil

What kind of oil do you use in your vacuum pump? Is motor oil ok? Or maybe mineral oil? Can't see wasting big bucks on "Special" pump oil. What kind of base oil is this so-called pump oil?

Who has the best selection of pressure switches? I am looking for a LP pressure switch with 7/16 X 20 female thread that opens at 15-20 and closes at 30 psi for my fans. Thanks!!!

Re: Motorhome R134 Problems

It does cycle on pressure switches as well as the thermostat. That's what they do. Funny how a tech rep sees it right away. Sorry I didn't answer exactly correct. That happens, I am not a professional but that's what it took to solve the problem.

Re: Motorhome R134 Problems

I called Jeff over at Transair who is their Tech Rep. He knew the problem and solution right away. The thermostat. He had me jump it and sure enough, the compressor came to life and cycles just as it should. Cold air too all of a sudden. I appreciate the help but it pays to call a Tech Rep who knows...

Re: Motorhome R134 Problems

RPM is 2160 as I mentioned before. Ambient is 60-70 degrees. The high pressure shots up periodically to 200+ but only as the compressor cycles. The clutch only stays engaged for 10-15 seconds, then the high side drops back to 100. What test data are you missing? I am going to shut down the condensor...

Re: Motorhome R134 Problems

Static pressures are: 85 on the low side and 100 on the high side. Ambient is 70 degrees. Does that tell me anything?
