Re: Update

I got a chance to do some more testing on this truck this morning. Same problem, vent temps aren’t cool enough. Pressures were 25 and 240. Vent temp 57. It was 90 degrees outside. Condenser temp ranged from 130 to 140. Truck running 1200 rpms. Owner says the radiator fans no longer run on high all t...

Re: Price of 134a going up now

Just got a 30lb can from EBay. $402
Dollar general has it for $6.65 a can.

Re: Honda Thermal Limit Switch

I Changed the compressor because I suspected the thermal limit switch was bad. I couldn’t find just a switch. The jury is still out. The car just left. I wasn’t able to get it to fail. Have my fingers crossed in hopes it is fixed.

Re: Honda Thermal Limit Switch

Clutch gap was good. Slight drag with the .020 blade. System was 4.25 oz low. Installed a new compressor, it held a vacuum of 380 microns, charged 18 oz of refrigerant. Haven’t been able to get it to fail so far and it is cooling well.

Re: 2013 Ford Raptor not co.d enough

Confirmed with owner that both fans are running. They are the only fans and it is a factory setup. Yesterday when running it, outside temp was 92, truck grill temp read 119, low side 27, high 275, center vent temp 53, blower one notch below high, doors and windows were closed, set to recirculate. Th...

Re: 2013 Ford Raptor not co.d enough

This truck was back again. Same problem. Vent temps just aren’t cool enough. Recovered the charge and I had it 6oz overcharged. Changed the expansion block while the system was open just to eliminate that. Vacuumed and recharged by weight. Performance didn’t change. This truck has electric fans. My ...

Re: Honda Thermal Limit Switch

Thanks for the specs.

It isn’t acting like it’s low. Works good when it works, but when it quits, it might not work all day.

Re: Honda Thermal Limit Switch

Vent temp was 45. I didn’t check temp at the condenser. Both radiator fans were running. Outside temp was 91.

Re: Honda Thermal Limit Switch

I just looked at the clutch gap.

I found a mechanic on YouTube. He said Honda AC systems were prone to the thermal switch failing. I haven’t been able to locate the part. Looking like we may have to change the compressor. I will check the clutch gap with a feeler gauge before I do though.

Honda Thermal Limit Switch

Has anyone had any experience with these? I’m working on an 07 CR-V with intermittent AC. System works real good when the clutch engages. Clutch gap looks good. Pressures were 225 and 45 yesterday. It was a hot and humid day. I thought the compressor relay was bad. Changed it and it worked for a whi...
