Re: 2007 Ford F350 AC issues.

Please give vent temp when providing lo and hi psi. Lo and hi at idle mean little, more interested in readings at 1500-1800. Comp does very little work at idle. I provided vent temps in the original post and they were unchanged today. The low pressure line coming off of the accumulator would someti...

Re: 2007 Ford F350 AC issues.

Never add ANY sealant or refrigerant that contains sealant. UV dye is fine, and recommended, as likely a leak. I know not to do that but I don't know what the shop did. They said that they didn't see any signs of leaking anywhere. The owner has had this truck for quite a few years and has never had...

Re: 2007 Ford F350 AC issues.

Ok, here are the results. Ambiant temperature today is 95 degrees and humid. Static pressure when I hooked the gauges up before starting the truck was around 110 on both gauges. With the truck at idle with the blower on high and max AC, low side pressures were 47-50. High side was around 200-205. Wi...

He is going to bring it over and I'm going to put my gauges on it and see what the pressures are at.

Re: 2007 Ford F350 AC issues.

Thanks for the replies. No, I don't know how much they put in. Her dad just said they recharged it and assumed it was the correct amount. I will have to ask him if he can get more info. I think he plans on calling tomorrow to tell the shop that he doesn't think it working correctly.

2007 Ford F350 AC issues.

This is my fiancé's Dad's truck that he bought used quite a few years ago. It has about 230,000 miles on it with what he believes to be the original AC components. It has the 6.0 diesel in it. It has been having intermittent AC issues where it would cool great for a while and then not. He took it to...

Re: 2017 F150 AC problem.

The price seemed to be inline with what other prices I had seen. They charged us for 6 oz of refrigerant but it was at the R134a rate.

Re: 2017 F150 AC problem.

Thanks for the reply Detroit. My fiancé decided to let the dealer fix the truck. From everything that I read or was told, the system would have to be discharged to replace the clutch and there were no local shops other than the dealers that had the equipment to recover and recharge this system. The ...

Re: 70 chevelle ac

I will be interested in how this turns out. I have a 70 Monte Carlo which has the same AC system that I need to get working. Years ago I bought a new compressor, condenser, accumulator and some other parts but never installed any of it. All of the original AC stuff is still installed as well.

Re: 2017 F150 AC problem.

The only reason I would think refrigerant needs reclaiming. Is it is "flammable". So more of a safety issue. That might be. I looked up the clutch kit on Rock auto and it comes with the clutch and the pulley and another part so I don't know if removing these three components requires enou...
