Both of those issues are from a nearby VFD. They killed a condenser on a rig with their brand new 4000 psi Diesel pressure washer.
They tried to kill a Mini-Split by plucking a bag of game birds up wind of the condenser. When it shut down they had no ...

Is this a block TXV on the firewall or a CCOT car with a cycling switch? Dodge did it both ways.

With that high side check the condenser airflow.
Fan(s) OK? Somebody pluck a chicken in front of it when running? Overzealous cleaning with a pressure washer flatten all of the fins?

Ah, the old defective return received from RockAuto. Because of the distributed wholesale nature of that operation, RTV items that don't get tagged get re-shipped to customers. Just the nature of the system when you run it with the lowest possible operating cost. They do usually make it right.

39f rolling down the road, 60f stopped. AIRFLOW.
Bad Fan Clutch. Missing shrouds, seals or air dams.
On a cold start, the fan howl @ 1500 engine RPM should be awful. After idling with the A/C on, both doors open & cabin fan on high for 10 minutes the fan should howl just like it did when cold ...

Check & adjust the clutch gap.
After 10 years of cycling it is too wide. It will pull in once when the coil is cold. As soon as things are warm, it will not pull in again.
Check the gap when the engine is cold - no sense working around a hot engine to take static measurements.
Any gap over .025 ...

Sounds like fun. I try not to work on pressurized systems myself.

Sounds like it may have had some sealer in the system. A new evaporator core will fix that.

Cleaning a filthy condenser is best done with it completely cold. If the grille is not too hard to remove, do so.

Re: 1967 Catalina AC Help/Advice
It would take a pretty badly plugged dryer to restrict refrigerant that badly.
Some dryers can be put in backwards - this will cause all of the refrigerant liquid to stack up in the dryer. Usually obvious because the dryer gets cold, and the line to the TXV does too.
Where ever the restriction is ...
