Re: Old Chrysler A/C

Forgot to mention that it was converted to 134 before I ever saw it. O rings? I have not broken down any hose connections but I remembered these as having flare connections. If they are o ring connections I will break them all down. Should I use the green o rings? It does have a sight glass so the c...

Old Chrysler A/C

I have a 65 Chrysler presently sitting in my side yard. It is a limited use driver that belongs to a friend in Australia, she drives it anytime she is in the States. The likelihood of her needing it anytime soon is slim to none, so I am fixing all the little irritating things that always exist in a ...

2015 silverado variable displacement compressor

I just finished an L83 and 6L80E swap into my '63 Pontiac. I am trying to get the A/C working. Everything on the system is off of the truck, compressor. condenser, evaporator and hoses. Obviously I do not have the BCM to control the de-stroking of the compressor so I added a low pressure cutoff and ...

electronically controlled variable displacement

I am putting an ls engine and trans out of a '15 Silverado in my '63 Pontiac. I plan to use the compressor, condenser, evaporator and hoses off of the truck because the charge seems to be quite critical with a variable displacement compressor. Is there a compressor that will fit on that engine with ...

Re: strange cooling

I have been racking my brain since I charged it wondering what the he... is going on. finally dawned on me. The car has been down about a month while I was doing ...

Re: strange cooling

Driving it the nozzle temp was still climbing appreciably as soon as you would slow down so I tried the .072 orifice and it seemed to work the same as the .057. I figured that as soon as I can find a wrecked Chev or GMC van I will be doing the LS engine and trans change and the weather is cooling of...

Re: strange cooling

OK, I have been since last Wednesday afternoon installing the V7 compressor, had to fabricate all new brackets. As has been the norm for this A/C install everything was a problem but it is in nonetheless. Wonder if there is anyone out there that could use a compressor/alternator bracket and a Sanden...

Re: strange cooling

I have a v7 compressor for a c5 corvette coming with a v belt clutch. Now I just have to build all new bracketts. I used to have a small structural steel shop so manipulating steel I understand.

Re: strange cooling

But what are they for? Back in the quarter midget days we used to do everything possible to squeeze a little more power out of a, I think it was a continental single cylinder. One of the questionable tricks was to support the camshaft lobe in a polished cradle and smack the top of the lobe with a bi...

Re: strange cooling

About the forum, there was an e mail that I glanced at that seemed to be alluding to the fact that this is an a/c forum and not a power train forum. I will have to dig through the e mails and look at it more carefully to see if I misread it. Not a major issue I just don't want to ruffle someones fea...
