The TX valve just controls superheat of the evaporator. Depending on conditions, the evaporator could be at 35 degrees or 55 degrees with the same amount of superheat. Once the evaporator pressure (and temperature) drops below the switch setpoint, it opens to prevent evaporator freezup. Not familiar...

Sounds like the low pressure cutoff switch is set to high for the control valve in the compressor?

With a variable compressor, it shouldn't be cycling at idle at all. I'd try and disable or lower the LPCO switch and with some gauges on and see what it does.

I don't see why the kit could care if it's variable or fixed displacement. Variable should give you better fuel economy and performance.

One more thing. How do I modify the charge due to swapping the tube/fin condenser with a piccolo? The piccolo has a lot less volume.

I am planning on replacing everything but the evaporator.
Didn't think about the fan clutch. I'll throw on a severe duty unit as well.

What oil should I put in? I've got some BVA100.
