Re: 2018 Peterbilt Not Cooling

Got to put gauges on it today. It seemed to be working as it should. 30 low and 150 high on high idle. Vent temp 52. It was 78 and humid. Low side had condensation all the way to the compressor. He said he shut the truck off Thursday night and hit the road Friday. Said ac started to work Friday even...

2018 Peterbilt Not Cooling

A friend of mine that’s a truck driver txted me about his ac not blowing cold. Can’t put gauges on it until tomorrow. He said the clutch on the compressor stays engaged, but hasn’t been getting any cooling since yesterday. He just called and said it has started Cooling again. It has Paccar motor and...

Re: V5 control valve

Look closely at the compressor where the case halves meet. I think it’s pretty common for them to leak there too. If the system is empty, you should be able to change the valve. I changed one on a Buick LaCrosse a few days ago. System was empty except for a little pressure in the compressor. The val...

Re: Is This What Stop Leak Looks Like?

Forgot to mention, we had to run 12 volts to the compressor so we could get gauge readings. Looked like old evidence of a leak at the case halves of the compressor. I recommended he replace the compressor, condenser, accumulator, orifice tube, and flush the evaporator and any lines without mufflers....

Re: Very Little Cooling

Thanks!

I have experienced a control valve problem on my nephew’s Ford 500 a couple years ago. I didn’t know GM also used them.

Very Little Cooling

2010 Buick LaCrosse that isn’t cooling well. Vacuumed and recharged to the amount listed under the hood. At 1500 rpms. High side was 200 and low was 55. At idle the low side would sometime be as high as 70. Has something gone bad in the compressor? Lowest vent temp was 65.
