Re: 67 GTO and 69 Caprice AC

If they still have the A6 compressor, recalibrating the POA valve for 134a should help a lot. Older conversions sometimes have too much (or mixed) oil in the system because of the guidelines used 30 years ago. Re: r12 replacement

In 1989 on a Bronco it would depend on the system. Many had dealer installed A/C, and it could have many different compressors and systems.

Engine size and compressor type is a place to start. Also look at the hose connections. Hose clamps are a dead giveaway for an aftermarket system

Re: Low Limit Switch for Dodge?

Wow, have not seen one of those big Mopar switches in a while. I would replace it with the cycling switch from a 1988-1993 Ford F-150. Same mounting, with a valve depressor. You will need to buy the mating connector pigtail for the Ford switch. Both are easy to find. The good news is the ford switch...

Re: Oil for 2001 Silverado 2500 HD

That all depends on which compressor your truck came with.

!0SF17 and 10SF20 compressors use PAG 46

HU6 compressors use PAG 150

Re: Cold at idle, not when running at speed

Interesting. Even a beater, non running Pantera project is a $40k car now. I don't think I would have risked a chinese knockoff compressor on a project like this. Anyway, the individual components of that system - the evaporator, lines and condenser can be flushed. The receiver dryer can NOT be flus...
