Re: 2018 Peterbilt Not Cooling

Weird. Almost like the clutch is not engaging?

Re: Dodge Ram not charging

LOL I have seen $100 SnapOn connectors fail to depress out of spec Dodge service port valves. The last 5 people that used that loaner tool probably had no trouble at all. What you have in that system right now is a mess. It was never evacuated, and now has a mix of non-condensable gasses and some re...

Re: another hybrid system question change from fixed orifice to TXV

A TXV requires some sort of freeze protection. The low side cycling switch from the orifice tube system will do just fine.

Swap the OT for a TXV. Keep the cycling switch. Add a receiver dryer to the liquid line.

Re: Evap freezing at low fan speeds

If the vehicle was equipped with a freeze switch on the evaporator, then it never had a variable displacement compressor. The two systems are mutually exclusive.

Re: Dodge Ram not charging

Common fault is service connectors that are not depressing the Schrader valves on the vehicle fittings. You evacuated the manifold & hoses. Then you charged the manifold & the hoses. A little bit of refrigerant will slip past a closed Schrader valve, so some pressure may have entered the sys...

Re: 2018 Peterbilt Not Cooling

Check the clutch gap as well. A class 8 truck picks up a lot of miles in a year.

Re: shelf life opened DEC pag 100

DEC PAG is good to go. It does not suck up water like the old SEC stuff did.

Re: hybrid system 1980s/1990s questions

Some of those cars had A6 compressors, some had R4's. Since they were CCOT already, you just need to connect the new compressor. Use a new accumulator, they are 134a compatible. Use the OEM size White .072 orifice tube. The original condenser for that car was a tube & fin. You will probably ne d...

Re: Ford C350 Dual Air - trouble

Nice. A true parallel flow unit as a replacement. The best heat exchanger available for MVAC at this point in time. If you look closely at the headers you will see the dividers. The refrigerant makes passes from one side to the other through some of the tubes, and back across through others. Your re...

Re: Ford C350 Dual Air - trouble

Yeah, aftermarket installs can be a puzzle like that. I have a 1993 F150 with dealer installed A/C. Only the dryer is OEM... The good news is you got the dryer drilled & measured. The fact that it had that much oil when it locked up says it was not grinding itself to death, so the evaporators sh...
