Re: Best way to flush tube/fin condenser at home?
hi If your going to use compressed air , use whats called an air drying desiccant snake commonly used by spray painters to treat there air supply . Made by Devilbiss . Google it . Use Shell X55 white spirit solvent . Very mild degreaser and cleaner . Will completely evaporate. The dispensing tool wo...

Re: Two Condensers connected in series
hi Done many 2nd condenser in series connection . Design of first factory condenser can be bigger or but usually smaller than the aftermarket second unit thats installed . Combinations of tube/fin and serpentine and parallel flow take your pick they all work in series . Common pressures on high side...

Re: A/con idle up or idle cutout switch
hi Little content about the idle cut out or idle up in a few of the previous posts . Although the conversation on pulley ratios is interesting and an associated subject sure but still unrelated . RE modern car cut out , these are typically ECU controlled not what the topic is about . Once again any ...

Re: A/con idle up or idle cutout switch
hi
Cutout = compressor cut out , at idle in this case. Might try a carburettor linkage micro switch at idle to turn off compressor .
Delco solenoid not a good solution
Crank pulleys 5.5 inch 6.25 inch or 7 inch stock / 5.5 drag only / trying 6.25

A/con idle up or idle cutout switch
hi Looking for a setup I am building at the moment SBchevy with carby and a street style cam . Anyways the prediction is the engine wont like the a/con compressor load without an idle up or a cutout . If I remember correctly back in the 80`s,,90`s there were Sanden idle cut outs . Carb is a Holley /...

Re: Cooling The Old Condenser
hi Always Always fit the largest condenser possible. Some aftermarket units are a little small with car model specific brackets . Some of these kits use a the next smallest condenser sizing !! Always use at least the factory condenser size L x W as a guide and go bigger if possible . There is some t...

Re: gauges bleed out vacuum
hi
In a perfect world every one would vacuum system for 1 hour and vacuum hold test for 30mins with a micron gauge .
Yes u need to check gauges as these can leak by not completely turning ""off"" eg valve seating . Another issue canbe hose sealing etc at connections .

Re: What happens when capacity of system is exceeded?
hi If u can get your aircon to work better when garden hose water is applied to condenser you have a condensing problem = not big enough ***Remember industrial R12/R134a systems DONOT run the high automotive pressures ****Automotive pressures on R12 in the sixties and seventies ran lower than 180-20...
