Re: 2003 GMC yukon XL / Chevy Suburban

Don't let that fool you. The schraders will often leak a small amount. The final seal, believe it or not, is the cap that goes on there, it should have a rubber gasket inside. If you have the proper schrader tool, you could try snugging up the schrader core a bit but do not over tighten. BUT you sti...

Re: 2003 GMC yukon XL / Chevy Suburban

You have a leak. I would obtain an electronic sniffer and go over the entire system to check for leaks while there is still refrigerant in there. Please do not be tempted to just install a can or two of 134. And whatever you do, do NOT install one of the "death kits" from the auto parts st...

OK, we'll be here. For some reason I thought you had painted flat black on your shiny lines already. 15F is not enough, tho. But see you in 2023

Re: New Parts But Can't Pull a Good Vacuum

Glad you got it squared away, that is why we are here! And patience is never a bad thing, especially with something you have never done before.
Having hot water in a small tub and partially submerging the small 134 cans can speed up the charging method you are using (vapor charging).
Good luck.

Re: 1991 Mustang GT w/ R12 - need help

Yes, I would test comp seal again. We almost never use 100% sensitivity. Maybe 60-80% at most. Readings need to be reproducible. You need to sniff at the bottom of fitting since refrigerant is heavier than air. If you keep getting a hit on the hoses, they look pretty brittle and porous to me. Thread...

Re: 1991 Mustang GT w/ R12 - need help

Looked at vids. What I see overall is overall jumping around with diagnostic attempts. 1. Plastic bag or shower cap not put over comp with belt off overnight to determine shaft leak as suggested. In the trade we do not guess. 2. Hoses are 30+ years old and look very porous and brittle. 3. I cannot c...

Re: 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 AC high side at 430 PSI at idle

1. why were all those parts replaced? did the compressor grenade? 2. as Cusser states, you have a condensing issue. This is not the HPCO. Could also be overcharged, or too much oil 3. 10" doesn't sound like much. 4. Need pix of any fan setup on the truck at this time, before or after the radiat...

Drill a hole in the bottom of old accum and measure what comes out. Put that amount back in the new
