Re: 2011 Hyundai Tucson a/c not working

So, you bought the Avalanche recharge bottle but did not use it, correct? GOOD , because I googled it and it has sealer in it. NEVER USE SEALER NEVER USE SEALER NEVER USE SEALER did I mention NEVER USE SEALER You will ruin your system and be looking at a huge repair bill. Most likely the system is j...

Re: My turn, need the wizards

Just checked Danfoss TXV literature. CCW decreases superheat. They give how many turns per degree change for R22 and R410. Their specs do not necessarily apply to the 1.5 ton 135 valves we use in cars. Too bad the superheat is not externally adjustable like on resi equipment. If it were, it would be ...

Re: My turn, need the wizards

No POA.
I have seen the adjustment in the valve body, but would not know how to adjust it
Three different valves have a low probability of all being adjusted wrong.
I have on order a new evap and TXV from a supplier that ICE knows well

Re: Guidance with CO2 Leak Testing

Are you sure the 1 psi difference is actually a leak, or the result of the effect of ambient temp changes.....

Re: A/C not cool enough, low charge / air in system?

Curious, are you using the plastic caps on the access ports? Even the best hoses will seep out a small amount of refrigerant over the years. Would still advise that you have the charge pulled (the recovery machine will tell you how much it got and you can compare that to the under hood sticker), vac...

Re: POA Valve Honking/Pulsing

FWIW I do not know what kind of magic is in commercial flush you buy at the auto parts store. We use naptha here. It dries quickly and leaves absolutely no residue. As far as adjusting the valve for 134, I would heed the suggestions of Dougflas and JohnHere if you want it to work correctly with 134....

Re: Guidance with CO2 Leak Testing

I do not mess with inert gas testing. I vacuum, then check for leaks by puffing in enough 134 to bring the low side to about 20 psi. It doesn't take much 134 to do this. This is allowed. I then use my electronic sniffer (I have a TIF brand). I use max sensitivity or one notch less. If you sniff an a...

Re: My turn, need the wizards

John, by now you prolly have the same headache I have thinking about this. I appreciate your ideas. There is no OT; we buy lengths of hose and use our own crimper to make our own hoses. It has been suggested that the suction line has a flap in it (delamination defect) thus that it will flush fine bu...
