Low sagging hoses present a problem to flushing, they s/b removed from the car to do so.I am not in favor of acetone since it is a polar molecule and may not grab the oil based residues from the system. Are you reasonably sure the core is screwed in snugly (not tight). There is a long reach shrader tool that is used to check this. Very simple tool and cheap. I would check that first. I have used the UV dye system in the past, but have considered it to be cumbersome.
Have now used a sniffer for many years with very easy and good results.

Spring locks are the most horrible thing ever invented, eliminate them
