Re: 1997 Sebring 2.5L A/C warm (details inside)
One potential root cause is that the single discharge valve of the scroll compressor is not fully closing which allows warm high discharge gas in the rear discharge chamber to re enter the scroll area. This is referred to as wire drawing and could be foreign material under the valve seat, cracked di...

Re: GPD R4 scroll
The Trailblazer cooling with a TRSA105 scroll was great over 30 mph and barely acceptable at idle.
The TRSA90 is aprox 15 % less displacement, so the drive ratio is the final solution.

Re: bosch/Behr Wing Cell (vane) compressor R134A
The Bosch vane rotary was sold by BEHR and is not a suitable for R-134a retrofit due to elastomer incompatability long range.

Re: New Sanden squalling above 3000 rpm
All/100% of SD508s are noisy at 2800 compressor rpm. Comp itself is ok. The addition of a aftermarket suction muffler reduces noise 20% and a discharge muffler reduces NVH another 15%. Oil quantity is ZERO influence. Get use to it or swap for a SD7H15 or a swashplate drop in or a SD708 (bracket mods...

Re: Need to find the right part to replace my a/c clutch
Looks a lot like the OEM Sanden SD7H15 with around 100k mi If the clutch friction surfaces wear and the disengaged air gap gets too large, then the flat springs are flexed beyond their safety limit, the springs fatigue and crack. This web site often recommends removing adjustment shims to compensate...

Re: Knock off compressor
Brad, 10-4 on the 4 cylinder boat anchor Clutch friction surface finish is optimal between smooth and rough. Too smooth is also undesirable. I prefer Iscar cutting mills and lathe, carbide insert, tools from Israel. Gear cutting hobbs (for the anti-rotation gear on a wobble plate compressor) can hav...
