Oil separator improves evaporator heat transfer
Oil (liquid or foam) insulates the warm evaporator tube from the cold refrigerant and negates any imaginary benefit.

Re: New Sanden squalling above 3000 rpm
I can purchase your 2850 crpm problem. Once made 508/5H14 acceptable by limiting suction valve opening, but difficult for you. Might back off anti rotation gear adjustment nut 15 degrees and restaking. See cutaway in "How to Air Condition Your Hot Rod" page 33. Mufflers are easier and simp...

Re: A slightly differnt A/C system
"Oil flooded screw compressor" : So that is where you gained oil separator expertise. In early days I stopped radio noise from blower motor by installing diode between motor leads when changing between permanent vs series wound or viceversa.. York application has less than 2% oil circulati...

Re: A slightly differnt A/C system
Suspect he has an oil pumper or txv MOP defective. Goal for rotary wing is total of 50 lbs. so saved weight can divert to fuel (but now at 82 lbs.+). military version 50% of cooling is for electronics. They actually CNC the air fan for turbo axial rotary fan compactness. If we could design compact 1...

Re: High side line temp from comp thru condensor and up to h block
Hey Tim, don't wet the condenser like I wetted the wooden floor boards in my MG when they caught fire from the hot exhaust in the boon docks. Stinks! Condenser can be considered 3 different heat dissapators: 1) Top is desuperheater at decreasing gas only temps with sensible heat exchange without cha...

Re: A slightly differnt A/C system
sanden.com has TRSE07 scroll shown with 1KW at 1000rpm. Sanden semihermetic on Honda el vehicle has very small scroll. txv with low MOP (max operating pressure) to restrict mass flow during cool down may already be incorporated to limit power input. Isentropic efficiency for scroll at 1000 crpm is i...

Re: A slightly differnt A/C system
One concern is excessive oil quantity would increase running torque and reduce refrigerant mass flow. I was involved in copter application of scroll compressor where weight and el motor torque limits immediately rule out the 2 banger. Personally, I'd reduce weight 60% and increase isentropic efficie...

Re: High Head and Low Vaccum Press. Still - New EXP Valve and Condensor
The Delphi/GM scroll pressure spike phenomeon is under drag racing acceleration conditions with significant cool refrigerant mass accumulated downstream of the txv. The initial PRV refrigerant release due to fan failure could be part of the leak. Scroll comp develop some aluminum fines (gray refrige...
