Re: 2005 Mustang does not charge

The issue was the can tap and self sealing cans. Don’t know why it worked the week before. But a little cheap plastic adaptor from Pep Boys took care of it. Works fine charged up. Appears there is a very slow leak near the compressor. Gives a few beeps on occasion from my test device. Thanks to thos...

Re: 2005 Mustang does not charge

High side gauge is attached just not open. No sealer used. I just charged a Prius for a friend last week. So I’m reasonably confident in the gauges. On the Prius it had been opened so I did a complete evacuation first. I’m no expert but have worked on several different systems in my more then 50 yea...

2005 Mustang does not charge

I have a 2005 Mustang GT. It had sat for a few months. When I got it going there was no cooling from a/c. Static pressure is 95 high, 90 low. Running is high fluctuates from 145 to 155. Low from 20 to 50. Ambient temp is 85. Frequent cycling. I tried to add Freon and it does not take any. So where d...

Re: No low pressure

Thanks again for the help. I hate to pay someone too but since I have no ability to discharge a system, I decided to do it the right way. If it was empty I would of gone into it. They had to match an expansion valve as the original was not available. They are an old fashioned a/c and radiator shop. ...

Re: No low pressure

Just thought I’d post a final report on this. Had it finished at a local shop. Here’s what was found. Blocked expansion valve. Dryer had the desiccant loose inside which is what plugged the expansion valve. You could here it rattle. Also a leaky oring on the condensor. New valve, dryer and recharge ...

Re: No low pressure

Here is an update with the gauge knobs closed. System running. High side 90

Now the low side showed a vacuum of 22.

As always thanks in advance for your answers.

Re: No low pressure

Can’t find the tag on the compressor. It’s proably on the side I can’t see. It does have a TXV. one other thing I observed is if you shut the high side gauge down as if your going to charge it the low side pressure drops to zero. High side does not change. Also notice that when I disconnected my gau...

Re: No low pressure

To clarify this is the dash air I’m working on. Service ports are at the front of the vehicle. I did discover a single port not far from the compressor. I assume it’s on the low side. I have been using the front ports. With my new gauges I got readings of 83 on both high and low. Those were static a...
