Re: 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7, 134a

I'm helping a friend with his Jeep WJ, 1999 Grand Cherokee 4.7, having insufficient A/C cooling.
How many miles are on the odometer, and does it have the original compressor?

The JGC Limited has dual temperature controls and hence dual blend doors. We carved into the plenum behind the glove ...

Re: 1986 Chevy C10 Not Getting Cold

I think the system is still a bit low on refrigerant based on the pressures at 1,500 RPM.

You could try adding one ounce at a time while monitoring the pressures and center vent temperature (easier said than done, I know), not charging it beyond the 56 ounces net weight specification, and see what ...

Re: Compressor clutch locked on and gauges read the same

There are just under 140,000 miles on the engine.
Ahhh, just getting broken in :D

You are correct in that the compressor continuously rotates the mainshaft whenever the engine is running. The psi was with the engine running, but I did not record the ambient temperature but it was probably in ...

Re: 2004 F-150 Heritage AC

I managed to get both compressor lines connected to the condenser and to the accumulator. I am also using nylog blue on all o-rings and threads. My next step is to get that evaporator flushed.
Using Nylog Blue is always a smart move when assembling a system. Flushing the evaporator should be ...

Independence Day—July 4, 2025

The celebration of Independence Day commemorates the passage of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, announcing the separation of the 13 Original Colonies from Great Britain.

As we celebrate this day, let us also be reminded of the bold patriots who fought ...

Re: Mazda CX-9 front and rear temp difference.

These problems could be electrical in nature. If so, the system might have set a code, or codes, that can be read using a scan tool. Your local AutoZone can scan it for you, usually at no cost.

1. Using the Rotunda A/C Test Fittings connected to the evaporator inlet and outlet tubes and connected to my gauge set, I ran the vacuum pump for two hours and the gauge read (30 in-Hg). The evaporator has been sitting in a vacuum for more than a week now with no movement in the gauge. The ...

How many miles has your Corolla logged?

I recently bought a 2010 Corolla. The AC system does not provide any cooling from the ambient air. I finally got a chance to start diagnosing it yesterday and my immediate issue is the compressor is locked in the engaged position. The pulley is still ...

Re: 2004 F-150 Heritage AC

When I drained the old compressor…..not a drop of oil came out. The clutch disk spun freely and I could hear and feel that it was still pumping. Is that unusual to have no oil in the compressor?
It's not unusual. For lubrication, some compressors rely on oil that's carried continuously throughout ...

Re: Poor cooling Excessive high side pressures 09 ES350 Lexus

The low-side pressures aren't too bad, but the high side is much too high, pointing to a condensing problem.

I would attack this problem on two fronts:
1. Replace the fan, check that nothing is obstructing airflow through the condenser, and that all foam seals and shrouds are in place. (The water ...
