Re: AC Manifold question

Ok, so the hand wheels at the end of the hoses open and close along with depress the valve on the ac ports on the ac lines. That makes sense. Thanks Johnhere.

AC Manifold question

all these videos on Youtube show that after pulling vacuum and then closing the valves at the manifold to see if the system holds a vacuum. However, wouldn't this just close the manifold? I pulled vacuum and then closed the valve at the manifold on both high and low side and left it to sit for 2 day...

Re: Manifold high and low side vacuum PLEASE HELP!

Remember vacuuming the system is not the same as evacuating the r134 in a system....if you had a leak or replaced a component of the system then you had to evacuate the refrigerant in your system....the reason for vacuuming the system is after you have repaired the system and it is sealed....you put...

Re: Accidentally charged through both ports for a minute

Info on what type of vehicle would be helpful (year, make, model, etc). But typically the amounts don't change much unless with the old tube and fin condenser the vehicle used R12 and now it has R134 in it. It's a 1986 Toyota Corolla GTS. Yes it originally had r12 with the larger tube style condens...

Re: Accidentally charged through both ports for a minute

Did the refrigerant can blow up and kill you? Maim you? Are there any strange, bad noises now, or funny pressures? If "NO" to all, then my guess is: OK. No..i'm still alive.... :) Everything seems fine except after putting in the r134 the high side pressure was at 240-250 and the lowside ...

Accidentally charged through both ports for a minute

Using typical manifold, and engine running with ac on. i opened both ports after I attached can of freon to the yellow line. Then after a minute I realised and shut off the high pressure side and charged normally through low side. Did I mess anything up? Thanks.

Re: Help ac compressor not drawing in refrigerant upon charging

Your low side connector is not depressing the schrader valve. You are reading the cracking pressure of the valve on the low side. Cracking pressure? What do you mean? So i might have been just reading the pressure of the can of refrigerant? So when I ran a vacuum....i might have just been sucking o...

Re: Manifold high and low side vacuum

Yes, should open both low and high side service gauge valves while pulling your vacuum. And - of course - any loss of vacuum means one should check all gauge connections for leaks too. When you add refrigerant initially after the vacuum has held, you can add as a liquid though both sides as the eng...
