Anyone have Alldata subscription for 1999 Silverado??

jbrooks26 on Wed February 08, 2006 1:14 AM User is offline

Year: 1999
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Silverado 1500 Z-71
Engine Size: 5.3

Hey Guys,

I am hoping that someone can help me out with a brake light problem I am having. My right side brake light quit working, all other lights work on both sides so I don't think it is a ground problem. I should also mention that I am a certified electronics technician and am capable of ringing wires. I would like a schematic of the lighting system if anyone can get it for me, there is a small grey box with 4 connectors on it that all of the rear lighting runs through. There is 1 input from the front of the truck, 1 output for the right side, 1 output for the left side, and 1 output for the trailer connections. I think this may be the culprit, but would like to be able to determine for sure and a drawing would help me a lot. Thanks in advance,

Josh

Uh, could you make that sketch a little larger? He may have to strain his eyes to read it.

Just another brick in the wall

Had a little mule I fed him castor oil and every time he jumped the fence he fertilized the soil

I would be delighted to pay the 30 or so bucks for an alldata subscription if they only had one for the 1982 P30 Chevrolet 454 motorhome chassis. Did purchase the factory manual and one of the biggest messes I have ever seen in a manual, covers some 40 odd trucks, has 60 pages of wiring diagrams without a single page describing what vehicle that drawing refers to. Shows connectors with wires on it, but left off the labels what that connector is for. This is what you get for 120 bucks for a new one, but was able to borrow one from my friendly dealer.

Ha, read the section in this manual about the HVAC system, said to refer to the motorhome manufacturers manual, ordered that and read, refer to the Chevrolet manual. One thing, is a simple circuit so should be able to figure it out.

I never complain about paying the price for a manual, though preferred the days they were only fives bucks including postage or free. The labor rates around here are outrageous for some guy that doesn't know a ohm from a mho that can waste hours trying to find a problem. Even my time is valuable enough to pay the price for a manual, in particular, component locations.
