Engine Size: 5.7 v8
Refrigerant Type: r134
Compressor seized up a few years ago and broke the belt. I removed the compressor, installed an idler pulley, and left the hoses free in the engine compartment.
I pulled the orifice tube and it was very dirty... had silver particles and what looked like wet paper... here are a couple of pics:

I plan on buying a new compressor, accumulator, orifice tube, and condenser. I plan on adding oil to compressor if necessary, and will vacuum/charge the system myself.
I plan on flushing the evaporator and flushing the hoses.
I guess my real question is: If i rent a flush gun from auto zone, will just flushing the evaporator be okay? I have a large air compressor.
Thanks for any advice!

This is a good read when it comes to flushing.
