AC blows warm air

knoxtoy87 on Tue July 21, 2015 2:53 AM User is offline

Year: 2000
Make: Volkswagon
Model: Jetta
Refrigerant Type: R134a

I have a 2000 jetta.

Clutch on compressor spins (engages) but ac is warm. I tried to put freon but seems like the compressor is not taking in the freon. Could my compressor be bad?

how would i check the compressor ?

Help, Thank you

With gages on both high and low side..

-------------------------
The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......

To see if there is enough refrigerant in the system.

-------------------------
I bought a can of 134a at w**-mart that had a stop leak, oil, and dye in it. It also had a hose and a gauge, so now I'm an AC pro!

Since you were apparently confused/unsure about whether your AC clutch was even engaged, I suggest finding an "auto AC" shop in your town; that means not a Midas or Brake-O or some place that just hangs out a sign.
