Safe to switch to Ester in modern dry r134a system?

cross6 on Thu July 16, 2015 8:28 AM User is offline

Year: 00
Make: Honda
Model: Civic
Engine Size: 1.6
Refrigerant Type: r134-a

Replaced entire system and most lines. It's 99% dry and new.

Can modern (This has a Sanden) systems be switched to Ester? I'm a DIY so I can't help but have the systems open at times even though I try to minimize and have a vacuum pump. so I'm thinking ditching PAG might be better?

POE can be used but you will want to flush all the old oil form the system, drain compressor as well as replace the drier.

I personally don;t see the need to change it! But it can be done.
