Is a VIR POA adjustable? HELP!!!!!

ykf7b0 on Sun May 31, 2015 5:55 PM User is offline

Year: 1976
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Corvette
Engine Size: 350
Refrigerant Type: R134a
Ambient Temp: 80
Pressure Low: flat
Pressure High: flat
Country of Origin: United States

I have recently bought a 76 Corvette with a/c that has already been converted to r134a. I have a new evaporator on the way and have installed a new desiccant. It is my understanding that for the system to perform at its optimum I would need to make an adjustment (1/4 turn counter clockwise) on the POA. However, I CANNOT find a definate answer as to whether the POA within a VIR has provisions for adustment. I know I have other options including a VIR Eliminator but I choose not to for several reasons. Again, is the POA within a VIR adjustable? Thanks for a wonderful forum!!! Greg

Some were adjustable, some were not.

That is a totally new response and one I've never read. So some VIR POA's are adjustable and some are not? Is there any way to tell what I have other than disassembly?
