Does anybody know if the dash has to come out to take out the hvac box? I need to replace the heater core and the evaporator.

When I replaced the evap on my '90 silverado, I pulled the dash. I vaguely recalled some folks mentioning that it "could" be done without pulling the dash, but I couldn't figure out how.
